Chris and Alice mention some great resources. One book I think is very helpful for educators and well-written is Ungifted: Intelligence Redefined by Scott Barry Kaufman http://www.amazon.com/Ungifted-Intelligence-Scott-Barry-Kaufman/dp/0465025544

I read that report last year and it was excellent. A very interesting read.

Christian Jarrett’s Great Myths of the Brain (http://www.psychologywriter.org.uk/Index/Great_Myths_of_the_Brain.html) might be a good option.
