Me and my work
I am a cognitive developmental psychologist interested in understanding the processes important for learning. I focus on understanding the causes and consequences of working memory problems in the classroom and on developing targeted interventions. In my recent work I have been evaluating the benefits of “brain training” for improving working memory and associated learning difficulties.
Typical day
Most of my work is office-based, but I often travel to present my research findings to both academic and practitioner audiences in the UK and abroad. In the office, I spend a lot of time analyzing research data and writing articles for publication in academic journals and specialist practitioner magazines.
